Issues - Online - RC3 2/2/2011

13 years 10 months ago #378 by rjspence
Hiya!

RC3 issues.

1) Online color fixed for standalone, but now won\'t show anyone online in backend or frontend.
Toggles for color work on gridstatus and online friends now, but not showing online for users.

2) The rest of the settings other than color on the gridstatus module do nothing on standalone. If this is the plan, we might document this if it\'s already not. it would be best if all the settings for gridstatus worked either way IMO.

3) When terminal syncing users in-world, they work and the joomla/os user is verified. But... users do not show online in the backend either after syncing the user. I don\'t believe this is tied together like that, but needed to mention that the syncing is working and doesn\'t affect either showing or not showing a user online in the backend or frontend.

So the fixes for color apparently broke the online status of users for standalone both front... and admin side.

Ps... The backend maps and groups delete are way kewel. Ability to set map size etc.. under new config is well... awsome. :) <img src=\"{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif\" alt=\":)\" title=\"Smile\" />:)

Thank you,
rjspence

After an os restart, online now works for the front-end, but not the backend.
And friends module is broke, it shows all friends online when none are logged in.
When the server crashes, nothing has changed, shows server up and online users online.

Also curious, anyway to do the offsets on the map in increments of .5 or better yet .1 ? I have -1 set, but it won\'t accept -1.1,-1.2,-1.3 etc.. -3.5 and 4 would be pretty much aligned with a 64X64 tile. -3.521 and 4.25 would most likely perfectly align. I do hope so, if so, maps will be aligned properly and from the backend. So nice.. very much nice.

I couldn\'t post it all, one refresh of the map and the log was enormous. 62 maps times this times 10 after doing a cat /dev/null > /var/log/apache2/error.log

Attach: maps.png for showing offset issue..
Attach: mapsfoto.png for showing red line artifact. This shows the redline that is appearing when you load the maps. Mostly always happens on the right. This is a snap of foto50.com maps on gnu/linux with firefox. I get the same now on my installation in a random fashion.
Attach: debug.div.png - It seems that we have debug turned on, but not sure where. At the bottom of the maps it shows a pink debug box. What file do I turn off debug, or lines etc.. ? I have it highlighted blue in firebug in the image.

My configuration: linux/mono - os 0.7.1 dev trunk (3 days old - have to use it for certain modules I compile to work correctly, but breaks my MRM telehubs that work fine in 0.7.0.2 Release.) Standalone - Joomla 1.5.22 - and the latest JOpensim. Client end, Ubuntu 10.10 - Firefox - clients hippo v0.6.2, hippo v0.6.3, Cool Viewer (SL Snowglobe), Pheonix, Meerkat, SL 2.X mesh viewer, and Imrpudence.

And just as a note, if you haven\'t had the opportunity to try Qarl (Fizz) Linden\'s prim alignment snap tool, you are seriously missing out. It\'s loaded in Pheonix viewer and it\'s notthing but plain awsome. Something that I wish I had 6 years ago in SL.

<a class=\"postlink\" href=\" www.qarl.com/qLab/?p=66\ "> www.qarl.com/qLab/?p=66 <-- vid in action. I\'ve saved countless hours using his new tool with builds. Check it out.

And one last one I hope.. Nice job on the map buttons! :) <img src=\"{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif\" alt=\":)\" title=\"Smile\" />:)
Quite a few problems, but nice buttons indeed.

Thank you,

Hi rjspence

Those notices seem to be everywhere ... <img src=\"{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif\" alt=\"\" title=\"Shocked\" /> ... and yes, I forgot to remove some debug divs. There WAS also some issue with the online/offline color of the friendlist and gridstatus, but I\'m not sure if I understood 100% what you mean ... ;) <img src=\"{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif\" alt=\";)\" title=\"Wink\" />;)

I changed a few things and published them again (the minor version numbering - RC3.1 - is just to inform already installed versions of this hotfix).

Hiya Foto,

Yeah, friendslist is broke completely. It shows friends online 100 percent of the time when no friends are online. I won\'t update this until I am sure we are on the same page.

1) map increments so that they align? explained in the post above.
2) logs fill up with a single refresh with maps, and both modules giving errors. [NO] [\'YES\'] and others.
3) Friends Online module is broke.
4) When server crashes, I see no difference. It still shows people online and service still up.
5)) Still, the only thing that works with gridstatus is just the color. The rest of the settings don\'t work on standalone.
6) The red line in maps as shown in the above attachments.
7) Backend never shows anyone online. That is broke.

Thanks,
rjspence

Hiya Foto,

Update on what I witness here as I know you don\'t have a standalone available.

I installed the hotfix, now online friends never show anyone online. Before it was always online, now it\'s never online for friends.
Backend never shows anyone online either as reported above.

It did however do good to .XX of the map alignment fix. Doesn\'t do .334 and rounds to .33, but it\'s closer and looks much better. To the point that I doubt anyone would notice if the map was off a bit or not.

I also have another question. When I turn on search friendly urls, the maps quit working. No mod re-write, just standard Joomla Sef urls. The url becomes \"index.php/members/my-maps\" from \"index.php?option=com_opensim&view=maps&Itemid=206\" but the maps quit working altogether. Have any ideas what that might be?

Here is a snap of what I see when I turn on joomla sef. The map is there, the tiles won\'t load. Could be the template that I am using because the menu ends up stuck behind the maps as well. Might have to do a Joomla! wrapper.

[attachment=0:3d7c76vw]<!-- ia0 niceurl.png<!-- ia0 [/attachment:3d7c76vw]

Update: I turned on mod rewrite and rewrote the url manually. I still couldn\'t get it to work on a page with joom sef on. Not sure why. But I did find out, as I had presumed, that the maps work with a sef url frontend within a joomla wrapper using the original long string non sef url for the wrapper url. Be nicer to not use a wrapper, but I can live with it. There is something keeping joom sef urls from working on this end. Just the map, everything else works. Not sure if there is a hard coded url someplace in the component, or if the issue is on this end. Your site seems to use sef, but I didn\'t know if you had the map in a wrapper or not. If I turn off joom sef, the maps work just fine.

Anyhow, these are the issues I\'ve found with the new revision. If you need my assistance fixing this in anyway, or testing patches, just let me know. Always glad to help.

Have a great weekend!
Regards,
rjspence

Hi Samuel

What OpenSim version you\'re running? The lines of your console look very much to me that you might have \"php notices\" turned on in your Joomla? (error_reporting = E_ALL...?)

Are you able to change this value? If yes, would \"error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE | E_STRICT\" in your php.ini or \"php_admin_value error_reporting 6135\" in your vhost config solve this problem?

Not that this would be an error on your side ... this is some issue I need to solve in jOpenSim! But if those changes improve something for you, it might help me to point out where to go for bug hunting ;) <img src=\"{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif\" alt=\";)\" title=\"Wink\" />;)

Hi Samuel,

I was able to reproduce your error doing an upgrade from RC2 to RC3.1. I followed how you went about it to see what results I would have. This is without removing the component. I didn\'t think php5 was the problem.

14:13:03 - [XMLRPC-GROUPS-CONNECTOR]: An error has occured while attempting to access the XmlRpcGroups server method: groups.getAgentGroupMemberships
Region (root) # (\'e19a308d-e76e-eec-8c3a-ec0b03718a5e\', \'bac7a4ea-f9e3-47c0-8f714:13:03 - [XMLRPC-GROUPS-CONNECTOR]: System.Xml.XmlException: Document element did not appear. Line 1, position 1.

at Nwc.XmlRpc.XmlRpcResponseDeserializer.Deserialize (System.IO.TextReader xmlData) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
at Nwc.XmlRpc.XmlRpcRequest.Send (System.String url, Int32 timeout) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
at OpenSim.Region.OptionalModules.Avatar.XmlRpcGroups.XmlRpcGroupsServicesConnectorModule.XmlRpcCall (UUID requestingAgentID, System.String function, System.Collections.Hashtable param) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0

The tables are fine and held the data. After removing the component and checking the database, the tables were removed as should be. The component was removed as should be as well. After removing the component and re-installing, I can confirm that the issue you see there is the same on this end and groups indeed didn\'t work with the removal and re-install after trying to upgrade from RC2 to RC3. After attempting a complete removal again, as you mentioned you did, and trying RC3.1, I can also verify that it would not reinstall and the error produced is the same as what you mentioned. I will see if I can help find out what is happening as well. Busy today, but I will try tonight hopefully.

These messages tell me that OpenSim did not get back the response from jOpenSim how it expected it. The reason might be due to some \"warnings\" or \"notices\" from php that I didnt solve yet or from 100 other reasons.

If this issue still turnes up with \"warnings\" and \"notices\" turned off in php, I\'ll need to get a closer look into it (there are debug lines prepared for such cases already) but if not, I need to look at a completely different place!
