Hey folks
I added some new
grid map
to foto50.com which is based on
jQuery
and has quite some new behaviours:
- dragable
- zoomable (even with mouse wheel)
- empty rows and colums are skipped to avoid huge maps if you have some region far away from the rest (e.g. TajMaldives in FoToGrid would usually be positioned one square further right)
- link a Joomla article to the region
- hide a region in the grid map
Currently there are still some issues with it:
- When zoomed out so the entire map fits into the box, it is not centered but positioned somewhere randomly inside the box. I\'m still trying to figure out the reason for this.
- The fix anchor for zooming when map does not fit into the box is on top left corner of the entire grid map. Better would be center of displayed part of map. Here I still try to figure out where I can add the nessecary calculations
The reason why I publish it in this early state of development on foto50.com (not for download yet ...

) is to get maybe some important feedback from you. jQuery is basically Javascript and thatfor client side and so it is nearly impossible for me to test all possible circumstances. If you encounter other issues than the above mentioned, I\'ld be happy to read your post here.
Be sure to include your enviroment (OS, browser, etc.) and watch out for some JS error messages or any other info that might be helpful to reproduce it.
Of course you also can post if you did not find any issue but have some opinion to this approach for the grid map
