Is the latest version of jOpensim compatible with Opensimulator 0.9.2?

3 years 10 months ago #3585 by Ton
I have a migration coming up shortly. I'd like to know of jOpensim supports Opensimulator 0.9.2 as this seems t be the version regularly being touted now.

Thanks,

Ton.

Hi Ton

According to opensimulator.org/wiki/Download the stable release is still version 0.9.1.1 ... once there is official 0.9.2 for download I'll need a little time for checking.

The basics should work with 0.9.2 though, maybe one or the other dll modul needs a recompiling.

But this I'll start once it is official.

Thanks for the reply Foto50. Unfortunately, it seems Ubit will never freeze this and release it, so I won't be holding my breath. In the meanwhile, this is going to leave many who would like to convert to 0.9.2 stranded. Is the code for the DLLs openly published, as I might try compiling it against 0.9.2 as a test.

Thanks Foto50.

Hi Ton

The source code of the search and profile modules come with jOpenSim in the zip file. You can find them in the folder ./administrator/components/com_opensim/opensim_modules/source.

They can also be downloaded from www.jopensim.com/jopensim/downloads1/category/8-source.html

That's great, Thanks Foto50. One other question.

I am adding jOpensim to an established grid. I think I will need to use terminals and the script you wrote to make this less painful :) Unfortunately for me all the helpful screen images in the wiki pages are broken. If this is a general problem, are you able to fix it? I think the pictures will make it much easier to understand how the terminal system works.

Thanks and kind regards,

Ton.

Hi Ton

Yes, the terminal should save a lot of work for existing grids ;)

Oups, the images of entire wiki got broken due to a server movement lately. It should be fixed now :)
