Group permissions and Roles not sticking

I am not entirely sure if this is something JOpenSim can control or if it is entirely on OpenSims side. But we have been experiencing issues with groups. Roles will not always save, members are not added to roles and to make someone else an owner you must add them directly to the owner role. I have tried editing the JOpenSim database directly for this because that is the only location I can find groups. I will give an example below:

1)Resident1 Creates group Alpha Site
2)Resident 1 Invites resident 2 to join group as owner.
3) Resident 2 Joins group but does is not registered as an owner to Resident 1
4)Data base is edited to add Resident 2 as an owner to Alpha Site.
5) When resident2's key is applied Mysql returns a duplicate entry error
6) Duplicate entry error indicates error only for group UUID and Avatar UUID not role UUID

Basically it will not allow more than one role to be applied to a member. That and we seem to be unable to add people to roles in groups they are already members of. Is this an OpenSim issue? or can it be fixed/worked around in JOpenSim.

jOpenSim's database is the only database, where memberships in groups are stored, so yes, this issue can probably be solved only in jOpenSim (and/or in it's C# module). The database structure is taken from the good old opensimProfile module and might be a bit confusing at the beginning:

The membership of a user in a group is stored in #__opensim_groupmembership, that's correct. But the membership in the group roles are stored in #__opensim_grouprolemembership and what role is activated for a user by default is stored in #__opensim_groupactive.

There are quite some changes/bugfixes for these functions in the upcoming version of jOpenSim, but for example the group land functions will still not be implemented due to known issues inside OpenSim.

I will try to publish the new version as soon as possible. Just at the moment some stuff keeps me a bit busy, so I have to ask for a little patience
